The 2024+ Chevrolet Blazer EV SS ships on a 22×9.5” alloy wheel with a factory 275/40R22 tire. Two OEM tires are specified for the SS. The Michelin Primacy A/S, a standard touring all-season, is standard equipment while the Continental PremiumContact 6, a grand touring summer tire, comes with vehicles equipped with the Performance Package.
For the 19-inch LT wheels see the Blazer EV 19” OEM tire replacement guide. For the 21-inch RS wheels see the Blazer EV 21” OEM tire replacement guide.
OEM Wheel and Tire Specs
The SS ships on a 22×9.5” wheel at +40mm offset, 6×132 bolt pattern, and 74.5mm centerbore.
| Tire | Size | Load/Speed | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Michelin Primacy A/S | 275/40R22 | 107H XL | TPC Spec, SelfSeal (all-season) |
| Continental PremiumContact 6 | 275/40R22 | 107V XL | TPC Spec, ContiSeal, ENLITEN (summer) |
Both OEM tires carry a TPC Spec label. TPC Spec (Tire Performance Criteria Specification) means a tire meets the specific handling, safety, and ride comfort standards that General Motors requires for their vehicles. You do not need to buy a TPC Spec tire when replacing your OEM tires. Any tire meeting the size, load index, speed rating, and XL requirement is a valid replacement.
The Michelin Primacy A/S is the standard SS tire. It carries Michelin’s SelfSeal inner liner, a sealant compound bonded to the inner liner that automatically seals small tread punctures while the tire remains in motion. Replacing either OEM tire with a standard tire without a sealant liner eliminates the self-sealing capability. If you want to retain self-sealing protection, look for tires with Michelin SelfSeal, Continental ContiSeal, Bridgestone B-Seal, Pirelli Seal Inside, or Goodyear SealTech designations.
The Continental PremiumContact 6 comes with the optional Performance Package and is a grand touring summer tire tuned for the Blazer EV SS’s 615 hp AWD drivetrain. It carries Continental’s ContiSeal technology which is functionally similar to SelfSeal. The PremiumContact 6 should not be used in near-freezing temperatures or winter conditions. The compound loses grip quickly below 40°F.
Before You Buy
Tire size. The OEM size is 275/40R22. The 285/40R22 is a wider alternative that fills the 9.5-inch rim more squarely and adds a slightly larger contact patch at roughly +1.0% overall diameter, well within the safe ±3% threshold, at the slight cost of range. Selection in 275/40R22 is relatively narrow at 22 inches and checking 285/40R22 availability is worth doing before settling on a tire.
Load index and XL rating. Both OEM tires are XL-rated with a 107 load index. Do not replace with a standard load (SL) tire in this size. Match or exceed the 107 load index and specify XL when ordering.
Summer vs. all-season. The standard Michelin Primacy A/S is a grand touring all-season suitable for year-round driving. The Performance Package’s Continental PremiumContact 6 is a summer-only tire. If you have the Performance Package and live in a climate with cold or snowy winters, replacing the PremiumContact 6 with an all-season for the colder months is the practical year-round choice. If you run a dedicated winter wheel-and-tire set, staying on the PremiumContact 6 through the warm season maximizes dry and wet performance, though there are much higher performing summer tires available.
TPMS. The Blazer EV uses direct TPMS with 433 MHz sensors. Sensors stay in the wheel during a standard tire swap and do not need to be replaced. After mounting, the Auto Learn system will recognize the new sensor positions automatically after approximately 10 minutes at above 15 mph. If the system does not pair automatically, a manual relearn can be initiated through the infotainment screen settings using a standard GM TPMS activation tool.
Spare / Tire Mobility Kit. The Blazer EV SS does not include an OEM spare tire. Chevrolet provides a Tire Mobility Kit consisting of an air compressor and tire sealant canister. The kit handles small tread punctures only and will not seal a sidewall blowout. Consider roadside assistance coverage for long-distance driving.
AWD tread depth tolerance. The SS is AWD only. GM specifies tread depth across all four wheels must stay within 2/32” to 3/32” of each other. Aim to replace all four tires simultaneously. If replacing in pairs, place the tires with the most remaining tread depth on the rear axle.
Grand Touring All-Season
The Michelin Primacy A/S is the OEM all-season option for the SS and falls in the Standard Touring All-Season category — quiet, comfortable, and rated for rain and light snow, but without a 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) rating. The majority of Grand Touring All-Season tires carry a 3PMSF designation and are the better replacement choice for owners who see real winter weather or want a more capable all-season than the OEM spec.

The Michelin CrossClimate2 and Continental SecureContact AW are both worth considering if you see significant winter weather. They carry the 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) rating that the Primacy A/S does not.
Ultra High Performance All-Season
If you want sharper handling without giving up year-round usability, ultra high performance all-season tires improve cornering response and wet grip meaningfully over Touring All-Seasons at the expense of winter performance. The SS’s 615 hp rewards a firmer, more responsive compound, and these tires bridge the gap between a grand touring all-season and a dedicated summer tire.

Summer Performance
The Continental PremiumContact 6 is the OEM summer tire on SS models equipped with the Performance Package. Summer compounds deliver the shortest braking distances and highest cornering limits of any tire category. These tires should not be used below 40°F — the compound hardens and grip drops sharply. If you drive the SS in snow country, plan a seasonal swap.

Winter Tires
If you are running summer tires and live somewhere with a real winter, a dedicated seasonal swap is the correct answer — summer compounds below 40°F provide significantly reduced grip. The Blazer EV SS’s weight and power make winter traction a serious consideration. A second set of 22” wheels with winter tires keeps the seasonal swap straightforward. For a narrower winter fitment, 265/40R22 reduces contact pressure on snow and ice while staying within 1% of OEM diameter. Tire Rack offers pre-packaged Blazer EV winter wheel-and-tire sets in more practical 18” and 20” diameters.
Performance Winter and Snow
Performance winter tires carry a 3PMSF rating and are fully winter-capable, but prioritize dry and wet handling alongside snow traction. The right choice for owners who cover highway miles through winter and want confident grip without sacrificing all handling dynamics.

Studless Ice and Snow
Studless ice and snow tires maximize winter traction on ice, packed snow, and in severe cold. Dry-road handling is softer than a performance winter, but in genuinely harsh conditions these tires make a measurable safety difference.

Mounting and Installation
If you do not already have a relationship with a local tire shop, Tire Rack ships tires to their highly-rated network of local installers who will mount, balance, and install. Order online and drive to your nearest installer.
- XL-rated tires only. Do not replace the OEM 107H or 107V XL tires with a standard load (SL) tire in 275/40R22. The load rating difference at elevated inflation pressure is not negligible.
- Sealant liner note. If your OEM tire has a ContiSeal or SelfSeal liner, inform your installer so they can clean the area properly on any repair. Sealant liners handle small punctures automatically but still require a professional plug-and-patch for larger damage.
- TPMS sensors stay in the wheel. Do not pay for new sensors on a routine replacement. A valve stem seal inspection is normal and worth doing.
- TPMS relearn. After mounting, drive above 15 mph for approximately 10 minutes. The Auto Learn system will automatically register the sensors. If it does not complete automatically, use the infotainment screen settings to initiate a manual match with a GM TPMS activation tool.
- Lug torque: 140 lb-ft (190 Nm). M14×1.5 lug thread. Confirm your installer uses a calibrated torque wrench.
- Tire Mobility Kit. There is no spare tire. Keep the OEM air compressor and sealant canister in the vehicle.
- AWD tread depth tolerance. Keep all four tires within 2/32”–3/32” of each other. Place tires with the most remaining tread on the rear axle.
