Welcome to Friday Finds — a weekly series where I share the most interesting wheel listings I’ve spotted on eBay. This week’s topic is 991.2 GT3 RS wheels, mainly because I’ve been shopping for myself.
I’m in the process of rebuilding a 991.2 GT3 RS and as one does, you buy wheels for a car you have not even driven yet. The catch is, for once I need wheels as this car was wrecked pretty good and two wheels were roached in the impact. I ordered up some custom forged wheels that we will reveal at a later date in 20×10” +42 and 20×12.5” +48. Those 20s will be fine and dandy for track tires and getting the car rolling around the various shops it will see over the next couple of months, but once you actually start shopping for tires you realize that a 20”/21” staggered set gives you far more rubber selection. And so we go shopping…
UsedForgeline GE1
20×9.5 +46 F / 21×12.5 +48 R · Centerlock
$4,989
View on eBayAside from the fact that it was the factory setup on my car, I really love gold wheels on white. Based on the finish, condition, and specs I am going to guess these are GE1 Forged Monoblocks rather than their race-team-focused GE1R siblings. If I end up sourcing a set of OE wheels, I might just sell them for these Forgelines.
UsedHRE 520
20×9.5 +40 F / 21×12.5 +45 R · Centerlock
$10,900
View on eBayIn the early oughts I had a Joyride Ali Goulet Pro Model snowboard that had an Audi Quattro on the base and an HRE mesh on the top sheet. I never did get around to buying an Audi Quattro, but these HRE 520s could be the ticket for the 3RS. Barely used, 2-Piece Forged, and $17,720 MSRP when new. This is a pretty screaming deal.
NewBBS FI-R
20×9.5 +50 F / 21×12.5 +48 R · Centerlock
$11,499
View on eBayThere’s a reason BBS wheels look very OEM Porsche. BBS is a primary supplier of the GT and Porsche Motorsport wheels. The Diamond Black finish on these FI-Rs is absolutely stunning.
UsedPorsche/BBS Weissach Package Magnesium
20×9.5 +50 F / 21×12.5 +48 R · Centerlock
$18,995
View on eBayAnd finally, there is nothing more OEM+ than literally OEM+. The Weissach package itself was originally $18,000, and another $13,000 on top for the wheels, so there’s certainly a premium here. But for the purists or those that want to keep a set sparkling clean, there really isn’t another choice.
These will get listed in The Market soon unless I decide to pull the trigger on those Forgelines. If you spot something sweet this week, DM me on Threads @rimlist. Happy motoring!
